From 28 September to 2 October 2026, partners met in Dar es Salaam for five days of coordination on the national plan for the rights and wellbeing of persons with albinism. The theme was "Pamoja Tutekeleze" (Together We Implement).
Partners gathered at the Peacock Hotel in Dar es Salaam for the National Coordination and Implementation Forum on the MTHUWWU, the national plan for the rights and wellbeing of persons with albinism. The forum was held under the theme "Pamoja Tutekeleze", which means "Together We Implement".
The forum was organised by the Prime Minister's Office (OWM-SBUU) together with Africa Albinism Network and Beyond Inclusion Tanzania, with other partners taking part.
Four areas of focus
The forum banner set out four areas that guided the discussions:
- Protection
- Prevention
- Equality and non-discrimination
- Accountability
Five days of working together
Over the five days, delegates took part in opening remarks, panel discussions, plenary sessions and smaller working groups. Participants shared experience, asked questions and discussed how the plan can be put into practice across institutions and communities.
During the forum, certificates and tokens of appreciation were presented to participants.
Beyond Inclusion Tanzania thanks the Prime Minister's Office, Africa Albinism Network and all participants for their commitment to coordinated action. Photographs by Mwakalobo Media Group.
